B.B. King’s Blues Club

550 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach, FL, 33416
(561) 420-8600 - Venue Website

The blues paired with Southern food, courtesy of a musical legend. No, you won’t find B.B. King there every night (though he’s slated to make a couple of appearances annually), but you will find a 10-piece house band four nights a week, plus the occasional national headliner (look for soul artist Tony Powers on Jan. 14). As for the food, the chain, which has other locations in such places as Memphis and Las Vegas, plays up its down-home roots: “We’re known for our barbecued ribs and collard greens,” says club spokeswoman Kierra Howard. Food is served until 2 a.m., but you can also come for lunch. In the evening, there’s a $5 cover charge. And there’s plenty of room, too: The club holds almost up to 700.

CRITICS REVIEWS

A boisterous dining area is separated from the blues club, but live music plays on both sides of B.B. King’s, which aims to create a rustic vibe, but clearly is run by a corporate chain.

There’s a part of me that greets an outfit like the recently opened B.B. King’s Blues Club in CityPlace with more than a healthy share of skepticism. (Full review)

Saturday evening

Went with friends to BB Kings in City Place, WPB,Fl.
Ordered a spinach appetizer that came with all little broken chips, like the bottom of the bag??? Thought it was odd that it was two for one drinks outside but not inside.??
Also, we witnessed the manager.. Curtis yelling at the band members on stage, everyone could hear, about playing loud and not the kind of music he wanted, the band members looked confused and apologetic.
We and the audience loved them, and were requesting songs.Im not sure of what his reasoning was, but it was totaling unprofessional for us patrons to listen to. Place seems to need better management and communication.

all star house band

They don't play the traditional blues material one would expect. Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, Son House, Howlin Wolf, Blind Willie Johnson, Elmore James, etc songs are non existent. What you get is Aretha Franklin, Gladys Night, Otis Rush, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, and more southern newer age blues catering to the non traditionalists.

Could it get any worse

Went to the Kings for a night out, was informed of a 40 minute wait for a table so we waited at the bar(no barstools) for our turn and had a few drinks. Two hrs 20 mins later still no table only excuses that the kitchen was backed up and that they were understaffed. Tried to cash out and the waitress/bartender was so inept she tried to double charge drinks, finally got it straight and escaped this mess. NEVER AGAIN! By the way the band still only knows oe set list and its semi-lame ...learn new songs

Customer Service Course

I was at the club in February with my husband and was not impressed with the food nor the server who addressed my husband as "Baby"; customer service classes recommended!

Multiple occasions....terrible each time

We've been several times to BB Kings, and each time the service has been terrible with SEVERAL excuses about why food was either cold, late, incorrect, etc... The barternders seem to be more concerned with text messaging than serving customers, and if the BB King All-Stars could learn just a few more songs, rather than playing the same music over, and over, and over, and over (you get the point). If you have money to waste, I would suggest buying a CD and cooking at home. Trust me, you can't do worse than this place.

BB King's Bad Food

I ate there last night. The food was terrible.
The corn muffin was hard and cold, the side dishes were cold. It was a 15 or 20 minute wait to be served.

A bad Dinning Experience

I was one of the party of two at this location February 14, 2010. It was not a pleasant dining experience. I had your salmon dish. The salmon itself was fine, however, it was served atop a bed of cold Cajun Rice and sausage. The cornbread muffin was cloppy and was cold as well. My partner had a half rack of ribs. He did not finish them nor did he wish to bring the remaining portion of home, as they were so bad. The vegetable serving sizes are suitable for sampling only. Additionally, service left a lot to be desired as well. While waiting for the waitress to return to our table we observed a waiter serve a drink four times to a lady before serving her one that was acceptable. It appears your bartenders are as bad as your cooks.

The name BB King deserves a better restaurant.
