After the rain put an end to our Friday night barbecue plans, my fiancé and I decided to dine at one of our favorite West Palm establishments, City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill. Located next to Brewzzi on the second floor of CityPlace's main courtyard, this popular restaurant features multi-ethnic dishes in an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. In addition to an eclectic and consistently good menu, City Cellar offers one of the most comprehensive wine lists around. You can find vintages in all price ranges from practically every wine-producing country in the world. The bottles are all on display in a glass-enclosed floor-to-ceiling wine cellar behind the bar. For all the buzz that’s generated by every high-concept restaurant that opens in CityPlace, it’s worth remembering that there are a good number of eateries that have been there for the long haul. They’re not quite so “sexy” at a time when we seemingly equate dining out with a floor show — think the cancan dancers at CityPlace’s new Carousel Can Can Cafe or the belly dancers at the year-old Taverna Opa — but they do often deliver the goods food-wise.
Or, in the case of City Cellar, food-wise and wine-wise. (Full review)
