I learned my lesson

I searched Spookyville online to see what SV was. Here's an excerpt from the description:

"Spookyville is a safe place to trick or treat! Loaded with fun and treats in a safe, family-friendly environment."

Family-Friendly I'll give 'em; but there was very little treating. You go to 13 different stops to play a game or just get your trick-or-treat sheet stamped because, "At the 13th stop, receive a special prize." Our special prize was a "FREE" ticket to receive a 8" glow bracelet with the purchase of "any item at the Blinky/T-Shirt booth. And the only treats I saw cost more money than I was willing to shell out. When leaving, I asked my 2 and a half y.o. son if he had fun. He replied, "No, I didn't have fun daddy."

I paid $20 total for admission to play games and get 4 pieces of candy for my son, daughter, and daughter's friend. $7.50 for three sodas at the Yesteryear store. That could have been the tip at the Hibachi restaurant I went to after leaving the disappointing Spookyville and going to my daughter's friend's neighborhood to t.o.t.

I spent $0 in the neighborhood watching my children get a big bag full of candy and have a blast doing it.

I won't return to Spookyville next year. I learned my lesson.

Spookyville

For the $5 it costs to get in it's definitely worth going with younger kids. Really the only lame part about the evening was they opened Spookyville about 15 mintues late which was not a big deal, but when I read the description to this and looked at the times, I assumed the kid's rides would be open at 5 when Spookyville opened as well. This was not the case, the rides do not open until 6 (and then that wasn't available until 6:15 either). Also definitely buy the wrist band for your kids, as the ride tickets cost $1 a pop, and even the bounce house took 2 tickets. All in all it was fun for me and my little pumpkin. The first thing he said to me this morning was (he's almost 3) "That was fun on the Dinosaur ride mommy go again?" So cute!
