We call it the “collective kitchen.” For the menus of 3800 Ocean are inspired not only by the local abundance of South Florida’s renowned crops that thrive under a hospitable climate, but by the regional flavors that stir the souls of our collaborative team of chefs. Each chef brings a new insight to the table: the comfort food favorites of New England; the fire and spice of Mexico; the Caribbean traditions of Jamaica; and the ageless classics of Long Island. Our own local abundance of fresh produce and seafood allows us to take the collective kitchen dining concept quite literally. Everything is made from scratch. Every taste evokes an emotional connection to a past culinary memory, or perhaps a future craving.
At 3800 Ocean, the dining experience provides a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. But if the seaside view is simply an appetizer, it’s one that will whet the appetite for a truly delightful experience. Choose to dine indoors within a calming space of contemporary elegance, or outdoors on an expansive, covered patio where calming breezes and the soft sounds of the gentle surf provide an inviting and relaxed atmosphere.

I joined a guest last night for dinner at 3800 and had a fantastic meal from start to finish.
Our server was friendly and attentive and suggested the corn chowder with peekytoe crab and coconut tuna ceviche. Both were flawless. The chowder had a beautiful buttery corn flavor and a silky texture. The tuna was melt in your mouth fresh and had a wonderful clean flavor without being in your face.
For our entrees, we ordered the ternderloin/short rib and the butter roasted lobster. The tenderloin and short rib were perfectly cooked. There was a minimilist approach to this dish which was nice. The onion gratin was a bit of a miss on this dish, however.
the butter roasted lobster was soft and tender. The sunchoke puree and sauce were fresh and bright. Overall, a fantastic dish.
Dessert may have been the highlight of the whole meal. They knocked it out of the park completely. Our toffee cake was so moist and tender. We didn't know which ice creams to choose because they all looked amazing, but went with a butter pecan and fig goat cheese. Both were unique and truly special. And the little macaroon accompaniments were insane.
Things were a little slow, but service was fantastic, the meal was phenomenal and the view was unbeatable.

I had the extreme pleasure of dining with my family last night at 3800 Ocean. I was pleasantly suprised that such an upscale restaurant was located in the Marriott. The views are amazing and the restaurant is beautiful.
My family started off with the Caprese salad and the Peekytoe crab salad. Both were out of this world. I have never even heard of peekytoe crab prior to this. We all had different entrees but the best was the petite beef tenderloin with the short rib. They melted in my mouth! I did not need a knife to cut the short rib. My husband had the snapper and that was also divine. The desserts looked amazing but unfortunately we were full so we will have to come back.
The service was outstanding! Our waitress was adorable and was very knowledgable about the menu and wine. I do feel that her professionalism shined through since the table behind us did nothing but complain the entire time. The poor waitress and manager did everything they could to make this table happy but it seemed they were there to complain and get freebies. It was impossible not to overhear their complaints and they were the absolute opposite of the truth from waiting times, to food quality, and prices.I was very impressed with the class of the restaurant and staff.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all of my family and friends.

This was a birthday dinner, and I convinced my family that 3800 Ocean was the place I wanted to go to celebrate. We got there at 7:15 and received our main course at 9:15. We ordered a bottle of wine (overprice by a bunch, I might add), and the waitress said it was not chilled. We were finally served that about 45 minutes later, after we had requested it several times. We asked if there was bread and were told it would be right over. We waited at least a half hour for that. And, we are not talking about a packed restaurant here. I did speak to the assistant manager to tell her how very disappointed I was with my birthday dinner, and she brought us some desserts on the house. That was very nice, but this is a moderately expensive restaurant with entrees in the high$20 to mid$30 range. I expect better service. Oh, and the food itself. It was okay. Not great and not awful. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends, that's for sure.
