When I made plans to visit Miami from Houston, I was really excited about the nightlife and looked up a few places to check out. Club Nikki got great reviews, and even the young concierge at Hilton told us it was the best place to party in Miami. Wow. I wish someone had told me the truth. If I had wanted to pay $20 to get past a rude doorman, into a hideously decorated club (a million pillows all positioned at 45 degree angles, really??), to party with no one (the place was dead on a Saturday night), and order weak but expensive drinks from a borderline-retarded bartender wearing a god-awful uniform, I would have said so. Instead I'm left wondering if this is what Miami's nightlife is usually like. Sad to say, I have a new appreciation for Houston's club scene now.
